Thus this is more of a name change formality, and the “v2.10” scenery will work fine with v2.8 and probably most v2.x versions of FlightGear. The scenery content does not follow the same release schedule and has updates and improvements every few days. The FlightGear scenery downloads has been updated to v2.10 in preparation for the 17 Feb v2.10 release.
